Companies that purchase COVID-19 insurance for their employees can receive tax benefits in accordance with the laws and regulations of the Republic of Latvia. Contact the State Revenue Service for more information.

One-off financial claim payment
We will pay a one-off claim of EUR 1000–6000 under the chosen COVID-19 insurance coverage in the event of a person being admitted to an inpatient hospital.

Hospital allowance
In the case of falling ill with COVID-19, according to the chosen insurance coverage, we will pay a claim of EUR 30–100 for each day spent in an inpatient hospital, starting from the sixth day and up to the sum insured of the risk Hospital Allowance.
- Number of employees in the company: minimum 15
- Insured persons: all company employees aged 18–64
- Insurance period: 1 year
- The insurance premium is fixed for the duration of the contract and is non-refundable for any unused insurance period
COVID-19 insurance programmes
BALTA offers four COVID-19 insurance programmes, which provide a financial indemnity to employees in the event of falling ill with COVID-19 for each day spent in an inpatient hospital, starting from the sixth day and up to the sum insured of the risk Hospital Allowance. The policy also provides for a one-off additional indemnity of the full amount of the COVID-19 sum insured under the chosen programme.
COVID-19 is subject to a waiting period of three days from the start date of the insurance contract.

Yes, it is possible.
The insurance coverage comes into force if the insured person is diagnosed with COVID-19 and is treated in an overnight inpatient hospital for at least six consecutive days. COVID-19 is also subject to a waiting period of three days from the start date of the insurance contract.
BALTA offers four COVID-19 insurance programmes with insurance premiums ranging from EUR 12 to EUR 36 per person.
The claim payment is made to the insured person, i.e., the company’s employee.
