Crop insurance
We compensate for reduced crop yields or, in certain cases, a fixed amount of compensation if the damage is caused by hail, storms, torrential rain, fire, weather unfavourable to overwintering or wild animals. We will insure wheat, barley, rye, triticale, oats, buckwheat, rape, peas, field beans, and soya.

Key risks
-
Hail
The greatest yield losses occur when hail hits plants at maturity. For oilseed rape, the yield loss in such cases is usually close to 100%.
-
Storms and torrential rain
The most common type of damage caused by storms and torrential rain is cereal lodging. In more severe storms, the thicker stems of oilseed rape and field beans can also be broken off.
-
Failure to overwinter
Frost heaving, drying out, suffocation under the ice crust, and uprooting can destroy large areas of winter crops. In Latvia, it has been observed that most crops do not overwinter.

Depending on the weather conditions, the sell-by dates of crop insurance policies may be extended or shortened.
